Insurances and Payments
CREDENTIALED INSURANCES, VERIFICATION OF BENEFITS, AND CO-INSURANCE
Though we accept many insurances, including Medicaid, Aetna, Allegiance, TriCare, TriWest, Blue Cross Blue Shield, GEHA, Medicare, Mountain Health Co-op, Cigna, and PacificSource**, some individuals may have a deductible or have regular copayments. We require a verification of benefits for all new clients before scheduling and intake, and you will be notified of your coinsurance or deductible amount prior to being seen by any of our providers.*
For verification of benefits, we may ask for certain information such as your full name, your insurance number and group ID, the customer service number from your card, your birth date, the name of the insured if different from your name, and the insured's birth date. This is necessary to receive information from your insurance company on how much you will be responsible for of your insurance reimbursement. This allows for you to have knowledge of your financial responsibilities before starting therapy. Those with Medicaid do not have co-insurance and will not be subject to fees of any kind; however, we must verify that you have Medicaid.
*Disclaimer: We can only provide what information that is given to us by your insurance provider. Sometimes (very rarely) insurances may misquote your estimated costs. We are not liable for any misinformation given to us on behalf of your insurance provider. However, we will always do our best to assist in any way we can.
**Individual providers with Healing Mountain may or may not carry all of these insurances. Some of our providers are contract workers, and therefore must do their own individual credentialing. Individual insurances are listed on our providers' Psychology Today profiles: Carol Josephson, LAC, LCSW & Jen Mittelstadt, SWLC.
CHANGE OR LOSS OF INSURANCE AND THE INSURANCE CREDENTIALING PROCESS
We understand that insurances at times change due to age, switching jobs, marriages, or divorces. If your insurance will change in the future, please notify us as soon as possible so we can attempt to make this transition smoothly. If you are switching to an insurance we are not credentialed in, you may be put on a waitlist or referred so you can continued to receive care while we become credentialed with that insurance.
Credentialing may or may not be a long process. Applications are sent from insurance companies when requested, and waiting times can be from 30-90 days, or even longer. We do not have control over insurance companies' waiting times, but we do our best! We ask you to please be patient with the process.
If you lose your insurance, we will do our best to coordinate care for you. Our client care coordinator and insurance biller often work with clients to figure out the best solution.
OUT-OF-POCKET PAYMENTS AND THE SLIDING FEE SCALE
For out-of-network clients, typical fees for a one-hour session are $150. However, if you are a new client and live near or within the poverty limit, you may contact us to set up a sliding fee scale based on your current income, or receive assistance signing up for Medicaid with our client care coordinator.
